After a whole load of deliberation over the best way to explain how to use the site, we eventually settled on the simple approach. We’ll explain the fundamental principles then we believe the site should make enough sense for you to be able to work your way through it intuitively.
So, here are the fundamentals:
It all starts with “LISTIINGS”
The link to create LISTINGS is in the main menu at the top of every page. This is the form you can use to post your OFFER of or REQUEST for help. All the LISTINGS people create appear in the main directory where other people can browse through them. For easier browsing there are categories. You can browse all LISTINGS or only OFFERS or REQUESTS if you choose.
LISTINGS then give way to “DEALS”
So now put yourself in the position of someone who’s been browsing the LISTINGS and has seen something they want to get involved in. Now, you create a DEAL which you propose as a RESPONSE to the LISTING. Before responding, be sure to to check out the person’s KARMUR PROFILE and any previous KARMUR REPORT in order to get an idea of what that person will be like to deal with.
A DEAL has 4 different states – PENDING, ACCEPTED (also sometimes referred to as IN PROGRESS), COMPLETED and DECLINED. When you respond, the DEAL starts off as PENDING until the person who posted the LISTING comes along and either accepts or declines it. If the lister accepts, the deal changes to ACCEPTED, and if not it changes to DECLINED.
If your DEAL is DECLINED, that is the end of your interaction, however, if the DEAL is ACCEPTED it’s then time to go ahead and put your KARMUR where your mouth is. Once you’ve done the deal, you both go back to the DEAL on KARMUR and flag it complete which takes you to the final phase of the process.
For every DEAL that is completed, a KARMUR REPORT is filed
When the DEAL is in the complete state, links will appear that allow you to start the KARMUR REPORT (either one of the users can do this). Once started, when you view the KARMUR REPORT there will be links to complete the WRITE UP and do the QUESTIONNAIRE. Once you’ve completed at least the QUESTIONNAIRE you will have the ability to flag the KARMUR REPORT as complete. Once both users have done that, the information is correlated with previous scores into each person’s KARMUR PROFILE for other users to ponder when considering doing a deal with either of you in the future.

Overall Advice
One of the main things to remember is that LISTINGS and DEALS are essentially separate. You can keep doing DEAL after DEAL with the LISTING still appealing for more of them, so if you’re only looking for a certain number of deals remember to go back to the LISTING and end it when you no longer need to appeal for people.
Final Comments

We think the process comes quite naturally once you’ve familiarised yourself with it, but then again it would do given that we created it, so we need you to tell us if that’s the case.
