Karmur Member Privacy Policy

Karmur respects everyone’s right to privacy. This page summarises what personally identifiable information we may collect, and why we ask for this information.

All information requested and stored on the site is owned by Alex and Jon who are ItchyBacks Limited and will be referred to as WE or US throughout this document.

The Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act is there to ensure that people’s privacy is not infringed upon. WE have no intention on infringing on your privacy. WE are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. WE adhere to the Data Protection Principles therein which in summary require that data shall be:

  • Identity is important to the site so the information that we ask is asked only to verify you are who you are and for communication purposes regarding issues directly related to your membership of the site only.
  • All personal information will be processed fairly, lawfully.
  • We will not keep your personal information for longer than you are a member of the site. On termination of your account, any personal details will be removed however some records will remain in records where you have been involved with other users.
  • We will not pass your details on to any third parties except for the reasons given below.
  • Only the information that you choose to be will be seen by other members of the community.
  • We will keep it securely.
  • We will investigate any breaches of security if they occur and take steps to stop them happening again.
  • We will be accurate to the best of our knowledge.
  • It will not be transferred to other countries without adequate protection.
  • We will observe your rights.

We only ask for the following information:

  • Name
  • An e-mail address
  • Address

Further disclosure is requested, however is entirely at the discretion of the user.

Anything else can be passed on privately to other members who you deal with on the site during individual Deals. Any further information that you share with other members of the community is between you and them and at your own risk.

You and your computer

As part of routine operation of our web server, your IP address will recorded in our log files. We also collect statistical data in order to gather information – analyse trends, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. It is an entirely anonymous process is not linked to personal information.

In order to provide an interactive experience, our website will store a cookie on your computer. This again stores no personal information and is used so that you can maintain a consistent user experience between page views.

Email Policy

We do not send unsolicited mail and we give you the option to opt out of any promotional e-mails we send.

Disclosure of your our records

Karmur may only send personally identifiable information outside Itchybacks Ltd when:

  • We respond to court orders or legal process.
  • We find through complaints or our own monitoring that your actions on our web sites violate the Karmur Terms of Use Agreement, or any of our usage guidelines.
  • Promoting the good things that can be achieved through Karmur on the web or in the media, but only details that you have allowed the Kommunity to see in this instance.

Termination of your account

You may request deletion of your Karmur account at any time contacting us via our contact form.

To ensure your account security:

  • Your Karmur Account Information is password-protected for your privacy and security.
  • In certain areas Karmur may use industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Karmur reserves the right to amend this policy if necessary. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you in advance either by e-mail or by posting a prominent announcement on Karmur. Continued use of the site will be taken as your acceptance of the changes.
